To ensure the tool can be stopped before making contact with an obstruction the LZS-003 automatically monitors the stopping distance every time the machine is stopped (laser obstruction or manual stop by the operator or machine control).

If the stopping distance exceeds the safe limit the LZS-003 forces an emergency stop. On power-up the LZS-003 also performs an additional automatic stop test so operation cannot continue unless the machine is safe to operate.
