To ensure the tool can be stopped before making contact with an obstruction the LZS-003-HS automatically monitors the stopping distance every time the machine is stopped (laser obstruction or manual stop by the operator or machine control).

If the stopping distance exceeds the safe limit the LZS-003-HS forces an emergency stop. On power-up the LZS-003-HS also performs an additional automatic stop test so operation cannot continue unless the machine is safe to operate.
