Muting is the temporary, automatic suspension of the optical sensing function (laser). The tools normally close in high speed then decelerate to pressing speed until the mute point is reached (leaving a small gap between the punch and material). The remaining distance is then traversed at pressing speed.

The LZS-003-HS initiates an automatic mute point set-up on the first stroke using the laser to detect the surface of the material. The operator confirms the mute point by pressing a button on the LCD panel and the mute point is set. No mechanical adjustment is necessary. No extra muting devices or switches need to be added to the press brake.
